Syncing Times
Embodied Tradition,
Living Community.

Friday prayer
Jumu‘ah fills the main floor, the balcony and the entrance hall: about a thousand people, in a mosque whose main hall was built for 600. The khutbah is in Turkish, carried live into other languages for anyone who needs it.

The library
Several thousand volumes of tafsir, hadith and fiqh, open to anyone who wants to sit and read.

Ramadan
Everyone eats: neighbours, students, anyone who happens to be here at maghrib. Attendance across the month runs past 3,000.
Our mission
To keep Hamza Mosque open every day for the people who live around it, and to put what happens inside it within reach of everyone else, in a language they understand: a place to pray, a school where the Quran is taught free of charge, and a table anyone is invited to.

Every lesson given at the mosque is filmed and published. Most of the people who follow it have never set foot in Başakşehir. YouTube, Instagram and Facebook are how they attend.
